How Party Report Cards works
Where the numbers come from
Every figure about funds and works comes from MoSPI’s eSAKSHI portal, the official system for the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme, through the MPLADS Tracker. eSAKSHI does not record party, so each MP’s party is taken from the official member lists of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on sansad.in.
Party list fetched 1 Nov 2026, 12:01 pm IST; 778 of 778 current MPs (100%) matched to a party. Both are refreshed twice a month.
How party figures are calculated
- A party’s figures add up its current MPs: the 18th Lok Sabha and sitting Rajya Sabha members.
- Lok Sabha MPs are matched by state and constituency, Rajya Sabha members by state and name. MPs that can’t be matched are left out and listed below, never guessed.
- Fund utilisation = value of works recommended ÷ allocated limit (MoSPI’s definition). Spent = vendor payments ÷ allocated limit. Completion = completed ÷ recommended works.
- Rank is by party score (0–100), worked out on all the party’s MPs’ works and money combined, so one strong MP can’t carry a party: works completed 25%, spending efficiency 18%, fund utilisation 15%, proof of work 12%, funds spent 10%, sanction speed 10%, vendor diversity 10%. Finishing works counts most; money paid out without works being completed scores low; works with photos or documents uploaded as proof score higher.
- Sanction speed depends on district authorities, so it counts for parties (whose MPs work with many districts) but is only a separate grade for individual MPs.
- Members of Parliament (MPs) do not have direct, operational control over the specific vendors selected for government public works. However, they exert significant indirect influence by shaping procurement frameworks, passing supplier diversity laws, and conducting oversight.
- Parties with fewer than 3 MPs, independents and nominated members are shown but not ranked.
- Sanction and spending depend heavily on district authorities, not only on MPs. Read the figures as prompts for questions, not verdicts on a party.
Party names and logos
Party names, symbols and logos are trademarks of their respective parties. They are shown here unaltered and only to identify each party, as news coverage does. Their use does not imply that any party made, endorses or is affiliated with this site. Where we don’t have a logo with a clear source, a coloured badge with the party’s short name is shown instead.
